The International Compliance Association (ICA) – part of Wilmington PLC – has announced the return of the biggest online event for regulatory and financial crime compliance professionals.

The event will cover the latest compliance and financial crime developments and challenges including cyber security, sanctions risk, AI and ethics and the evolution of CDD.

The Big Compliance Festival, scheduled to run between 22 April and 20 May 2021, offers the opportunity to join hundreds of like-minded professionals over five weeks and hear from 30+ global expert speakers on the future of compliance as a strategic driver for organisations.

ICA President, Bill Howarth, explains: “The Big Compliance Festival is a highlight in compliance professionals’ calendars. Through lively, informed discussion, our expert speakers will discuss the latest industry developments and provide practical tips to help attendees navigate their latest challenges. Attendees can actively participate in discussions through live polls and forums as well as put their questions to the experts.”

Speakers at the event include:

  • John Flint, former Group Chief Executive, HSBC
  • Maria Lukashova, Compliance Lead, Microsoft UK
  • Vivek Padmanabhan, Head of Financial Institutions Relationship Risk Management, Europe, Standard Chartered Bank
  • Janet Adams, AI and Risk Expert
  • Chris Hill, Financial Crime Director & MLRO, Tesco Bank
  • Misha Glenny, Award Winning Journalist
  • Luma Zitani, Senior Manager, Accenture

Howarth continues: “We had attendees from over 60 countries at last year’s event and the feedback was fantastic with 100% of delegates stating the range of topics covered was either good or excellent. This year we’re pleased to welcome Bill Browder, whose campaigning led to Congress adopting the Magnitsky Act and whistleblower Xavier Justo, who will explore lessons to be gleaned from the world’s biggest financial scandal, as well as many other high-profile speakers.”

Since 2001, ICA has been helping raise standards globally by going beyond training to affect behavioural change.  Its virtual events, which are designed for anyone working in the regulatory and financial crime compliance space, offer a unique chance to learn and be involved in discussion about the latest global developments and risks.
