28 January 2025 – The International Compliance Association (ICA), the leading professional body for the global regulatory and financial crime compliance community, and the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Economy announced today the launch of the region’s first-of-its-kind Anti Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism training programme for the Designated Non-Financial Businesses and Professions (DNFBPs) sectors in the UAE.
The programme is specifically designed to equip DNFBPs, such as real estate brokers, dealers in precious metals and stones, independent accountants and corporate service providers, with the knowledge, skills and behaviour needed to meet the highest compliance standards globally in accordance with international best practices. The Certificate in AML/CFT- DNFBPs will be awarded to professionals working in the UAE non-financial businesses and professions sectors, who successfully complete the four-month programme, helping them to protect their firm against risk and elevate their reputation.
Learners enrolled on the programme will benefit from six core modules that address the concept of money laundering, terrorist financing, financial sanctions, customer due diligence, governance framework and internal controls. ICA’s qualifications are the gold standard in compliance education, delivered by world-class trainers in state-of-the-art virtual classrooms, helping compliance professionals to design new risk frameworks and instill a culture of compliance within their firm.
The programme forms part of long-term cooperation between the International Compliance Association and the Ministry of Economy in line with the UAE’s efforts to foster a culture of compliance and raise awareness in combating money laundering, terrorist financing and proliferation financing in the designated non-financial businesses and professions sectors.

The programme contributes to creating a safe environment for establishing and practicing businesses within the UAE.”
